Oh, Will. Sweet, sweet Will. How I adore this sweet boy.
Mom Casey is one of my dearest friends. Her family has been featured on my blog and facebook page multiple times over the years. She also happens to be a phenomenal photographer.
When she texted me that she was pregnant with her third child, I about cried with happiness. Her family is just wonderful. My Will and her daughter Lindsey are absolutely adorable together, and their marriage is pretty much arranged 😉
Casey had a wild pregnancy, complete with ridiculous ups and downs, weekly visits to MFM, and trips to Shands in Gainesville. It was scary. When she was told that she was being admitted to the hospital at 31 weeks, we both cried. We were supposed to take maternity portraits the day Will was scheduled to be born, so we went to plan Z. I brought my camera to the hospital and we did our best using the horrible hospital window at 7pm at night.
Will was born 2 months early and weighed a whopping 3 pounds. When I was able to visit the NICU a few weeks later, I was amazed at how little he really was. His face was not even as wide as my iphone screen. It is something that you cannot imagine without actually seeing it. He had a brady while we were visiting, and it really made me thankful that my babies were not NICU babies since it was so scary.
In the end? Will is perfectly healthy and is home. We had so much fun taking his newborn portraits. He was definitely the smallest baby I have ever photographed, and I am honored that Casey chose me to capture the newness of Baby Will.
Love you, YuBurs!
