This session was very special to me. When Nicole asked me if I would come out to the farm to shoot her family, I jumped at the chance. Nicole and I are cousins, of sorts. Our dads are cousins, which makes us second cousins? Something like that. They live close to where our grandfathers (who are brothers) were born and raised. My husband makes frequent weekend trips out to the farm during hunting season and I usually don’t go with him, but I went this time and I am so happy that I did. My grandfather passed away a few years ago and it’s sad to walk around his home with so many memories from my childhood and half expecting him to walk around the corner.
I digress! Nicole is also a photographer– it’s in the Galloway genes! It’s always daunting to photograph another photographer and her family!
She had a sweet little surprise for me to capture and I was so excited to do so for them! I am leaning towards a girl, personally 😉
Their boys were so well behaved and polite! Little Fisher was not too happy about the announcement, but he has a few months to adjust haha.
We took the family shots first and then I took some of momma and her boys. When we were done, Nicole took her boots off and waded into the creek like it was nothing! That creek must have been 40 degrees- it was COLD! I took a few shots from the shore and was not happy, so I got in the water too. The creek was an awesome idea and it was super sentimental because it also happens to be exact same spot that out grandfathers played in as kids. Not to mention that the series turned out gorgeous and are my new favorites!!
This is just a small sample of the images from their gallery- I had trouble narrowing down!
Thank you, Sewells! See you at Christmas!
